Jeff Beck in NYC

I told Sandra she looks like Baby Spice & she had a good laugh.

This is from March 28, 2011 at the Beacon Theater, NYC:

Sandra saw my Blonde hair and was not friendly to me whatsoever. Jeff found it very awakward to chat with me while his Wife shot daggers at us with her eyes. ugh.

The look on our faces perfectly describes the mood. Sandra was NOT happy. You can tell. She had NOTHING to worry about! I was not single AND I am not a homewrecker!

Every single time I saw Jeff, He would smile the biggest smile and tell me I

reminded him of Jacqueline Bisset. I think He forgot that he always told me that.

He’d say “you look just like her. She was my crush growing up” and he would smile

and look away like a school boy. He was SO adorable and somehow shy. Sweetest “Rock star” you’d ever meet. I had to google her the first time as I didn’t know who she was. I can

see how we do look similar.

“I kissed a girl and I liked it” (Katy Perry packs the Fillmore in NYC)

I only knew THAT Katy Perry song until last night when I was backstage massaging at her concert. I was pleasantly surprised to hear her show is very rock and roll. She has a going ON! Young, hot, sexy, cheeky and a voice that will bring her really far in the music biz. I sat in her dressing room and couldn't help but watch her get undressed, dressed and undressed and dressed again (I was trying NOT to look but the room was too small to swing a cat it and she is NOT shy). I thought to myself, how many men would DROLL watching this scene here?

She, her super tight band and whole entourage have been using the Dr. Dot team for massages for months now and I finally got to meet them all. It is so cute how there is always one manager who introduces me to everyone that walks in “This is Dr. Dot, you know THE Dr. Dot, the one who runs the whole shebang, the whole team, the guru!” Everyone is always so nice to me after such an intro. Naturally I show them what all the hype is about by whipping out my oil holster and getting down to business by rubbing everyone down with gusto. By the way, I am not sugar coating things here, the whole entourage are super friendly and helpful. Very cool bunch.

Kid “ROCKS” New York City

It is 9:30 am and I am STILL UP! NYC is sucking all the juice and energy out of me but I am getting a lot done. Too much I guess. I don’t have the time/energy to write a full blog right now, but Kid Rock was in town because he sang with the Allman brothers Friday night at the Beacon Theater. He texted me the next morning for a massage. I was fast asleep but got back to him a bit later as you can see below. What a HILARIOUS guy he is. OMFG. Down to earth, generous, polite and funny as FUCK. Anyhow, I will try to write more soon, but I have to get my ass to bed.

ps. My German cell has only rang twice since I have been here. When I land in Berlin, it taakes a couple WEEKS to get back into the loop, get my friends and clients going again. In NYC, I am not even out of the fucking plane and my blackberry is practically on fire from too many calls, texts, emails. I am immediately back in the loop/swing of things. Clearly the best place for me to be for my career/business is NYC. I do love Berlin too, but omg, I will never decide. going to bed for real this time. Surprised

The Allman Brothers Band in NYC

March 23, 2009:

If it's REALLY important I can get up at 7am (when I usually go to sleep). Massaging Mr. Gregg Allman is REALLY important. Gregg has had massages from my team now and again, but this is the first time I got to massage him myself. I can't count the times he told me “this was the BEST massage I have ever had!”. I asked him if he likes Frank Zappa's version of his song “Whipping Post” and he said “I love it”. That is my favorite Allman Brothers Band song fyi.

The Pogues do NYC, twice

The Pogues are legendary. They played last night in NYC and it was AMAZING. I never saw them with Shane as the singer before, when I saw them in 1991, Joe Strummer was on vocals (this was when the band and Shane weren't getting along). So it was SUPER special for me to see the original line up in full force. It was everything I exptected. Band is tight, Shane is fun and very entertaining and his voice, omfg, so sexy, I swear every female in the place must have had goose bumps the whole time. Highlight for me was when they played “Dirty old town”. If they are heading your way, PLEASE don't miss the show, they are the BOMB.

Hi Folks

Andre' Cholmondeley here , from Project/Object, Adrian Belew Tours and more…….

I am proud to be doing some work for and with another of my all time favorite musicians/composers….I'm running Show Production for this one-night tour for  none other than EDDIE JOBSON, the violinist/keyboardist. Many of you first heard Eddie's work with King Crimson or, like me,  when I was 16 in a dorm room at Rutgers University, 1981…on ZAPPA IN NEW YORK….

Eddie is making his first return to the stage with his own music after almost 28 years (!!). He's been VERY busy in music — running a record company, producing, and scoring TV shows like Nash Bridges (100+ episodes), TV commercials, movies, etc. When he came off the road from the Jethro Tull Tour in 1981, he has not performed live except for a Bach Tribute with Tull in 1985, and the "Concert For Peace" and Moscow concert in Aug/Sep 2008. You may have read my  blogs from those events….

Spread the word on this historic show!!! If you are ANYWHERE near NYC , do not miss this!! The opening act (Tony Levin's new band!) will also be making their US premiere (read on). With people flying in from England, Europe, South Africa, all around the USA……you have no excuse!!!

Thanks! – Andre'

“The word ‘genius’ is bandied about a bit too freely these days, but in Jobson’s case, the term not only applies, it’s been used to describe him since his northern England childhood.” – EMMY Magazine

NEW YORK (Jan. 7, 2009) — Keyboard and electric-violin legend EDDIE JOBSON (U.K., Roxy Music, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull) is returning in grand style from a self-imposed 27-year retirement to introduce UKZ, his new “Virtual Virtuoso” supergroup, with a world debut concert exclusive in New York City.

Anticipated by Ticket News as “one of contemporary music’s iconic performances” and attracting concertgoers from around the world, UKZ will begin and end its “One City World Tour” on Saturday, Jan. 24 at Town Hall, 123 W. 43rd St., NYC. Show time is 8 p.m. This rare concert event also will feature the U.S.debut of special guests Stick Men, featuring King Crimson’s Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto. Tickets are $125, $95, $85 & $60 and on sale NOW through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com. For info, call the box office at 212.840.2824 or visit www.the-townhall-nyc.org.

In a state-of-the-art display of masterful musicianship that elevates the spirit of progressive music to the modern demands of younger new audiences, UKZ will be premiering compositions from its upcoming debut EP, RADIATION, set for release March 24 via Ryko Distribution. UKZ’s updated sound infuses the industrial edge and rhythmic aggression of bands from Tool to Nine Inch Nails, and it’s exemplified in the seven-minute video for the title track, which already has received over 5,000 hits in its first week on YouTube.

“New directions excite me,” says Jobson, “I decided a year-and-a-half ago that I still had more to say in the rock arena, and that the internet had allowed every aspect of that _expression to be approached in a new way. Everything with this band project has been self-produced, independent of the music-business machine.  I have created a real ‘player’ band of virtuosos and I am taking it straight to the people.”

A classically trained progressive-rock icon, Jobson assembled UKZ virtually by auditioning performances on YouTube. The result is a multi-generational “dream band” of world-class improvisers from all parts of the globe whose members are: Trey Gunn (American, a 10-year veteran of King Crimson and the leading exponent of the Warr 10-string touch guitar), Aaron Lippert (Belgian, former lead singer of Expanding Man), Alex Machacek (Austrian guitar prodigy, also in TERRY BOZZIO's OUT TRIO), and Marco Minnemann (German drum sensation, in several projects including with MIKE KENEALLY), with Eddie Jobson of course hailing from England/UK..

Jobson has spent much of his time away from band activity creating music for film and television. He’s been an integral contributor to movie and TV soundtracks, and also has earned several Clio awards for his commercial compositions.

More recently, he’s been the driving force behind the Bulgarian Women’s Choir, which he began working with 13 years ago while exploring new sounds for a reunion of U.K., the influential British supergroup. Jobson also runs Globe Media Arts, a music/video production company, music publishing company, and online store, including two indie labels for advanced musicians, Globe Music and Glo Digital.

“I have spent my life looking for new musical challenges,” he says. “The latest is in taking on the challenge of creating a truly contemporary rock environment for some of the world’s best players to exhibit their craft, while maintaining some level of accessibility.  So far, I am pleased with the results and I am looking forward to returning to live performance to share those results with fans from around the globe, in New York City — the capital of the world.  My hope is to move things forward — at least a little bit.”

A grand night out

So it's been a while since I've seen my friend Jill. She is from London but her Mom was from Barbados. She has a sweet English accent and is a total rock chick. You may remember her from my Motorhead Blog . She lives in London but comes back to NYC often as she has a flat in Brooklyn. Anyways, even though she may not LOOK like a rocker, she is. Whenever we go out to karaoke, she sings Led Zepp or some other hard core rock band. She tells it like it is and I adore her.

I WILL pass the scratch and sniff test.

"Every girl's crazy bout a sharp dressed man" ^

"she only comes out a night, The lean and hungry type
Nothing is new, Ive seen her here before
Watching and waiting
Shes sitting with you but her eyes are on the door….ooo wooo, here she

comes, watch out boy, she'll chew you up, woooo oooh here she comes,

she's a man eater"

Ok. let me explain who THAT^  is. I have been going to Iggy's karaoke bar for a few years and Mariam is a fixture in the joint. She never shows up until after midnight, when all guys are good and drunk and sure enough, this sugar mama scores every time. She absolutely LOVES my friend Jonesy, but it's been so long since he's been there (and his hair is darker now) she didn't even recognize him last time we went in to sing. She kept comin up to him saying "don't I know you?" and he tried to avoid eye contact as she really crowds him ALL night. He even had the DJ call him under his real name "Chris" so she wouldn't suspect that it was really him. heh heh.

Jill on the mic. Sandwiched by two NYC men

I could not stop laughing at Jill giving Jacob (below)  shit for farting in my car. She was BRUTAL on the poor guy.

Looks better than he smells ^  Jacob, aka "Mr. Farty pants"

Told Jacob to "get an enema to clean out your smelly rancid fucking ASS!"

After karaoke we had an after hours party in my car. Burning herbs and incense to make my car smell nicer, and to TRY and combat our pal Jacob's GAS problem (which smelt like a year old bag of hard boiled eggs). Had we lit a match in my car, it would have surely exploded. He LOVES Led Zepp and Hendrix, as do Jill and I so it is fun hanging out and jammin with him but daaaaaaaaaaaaam. My eyes were watering from his smelly ass. I am starting to think this bout of Bronchitis I have wasn't triggered by jogging in the cold, but from inhaling his lethal gas. FUCK!! Yet another downside of going out to Irish pubs to sing karaoke.

St. Patricks Day in NYC smells like a fuming compost heap of beans, beer and rotten eggs inside stinky socks by the way. Not for the faint of heart or people who have excellent sense of smell like me. Sorry if I am making your stomach turn, but you know how misery loves company…

I am working on a few more blogs since I am home sick so lets see how much I get done. Fucking bloody cold here in NYC, we got hammered by snow AGAIN. Mother Nature is on a rampage. I still hear Florida calling my name "Dot, come back, bake in the sun" but I also hear Berlin calling "Dot come back and freeze in the miserable below zero Berlin winter" ha ha. Oh the choices.

Hooter and Greenway show

Staying home on a cold Friday night here in NYC as I have my sex columns due NOW and I am on antibiotics AGAIN. My lungs couldn't handle the 5 mile jog I did Sunday night before going out to karaoke (wild night of karaoke) with my friend Jill. I am sure inhaling all the put smoke in the karaoke bar didn't help. I was jogging my ass off down in FLA without any problems, I guess I have to quit jogging in the winter OR move down South.

Some buddies of mine have their own radio show called The Hooter and Greenway show and they have been waiting for about a year for me to pose in their shirt so I finally did it. I have a stack of t-shirts I am suppsoed to pose in, but I never think of doing it. Doesn't cross my mind.

(you can see Pooh to the left of me, sniffing my armpit as usual)

I HOPE I get over this round of Bronchitis before I fly back to Berlin (within the next ten days). NOT looking forward to landing in Berlin this time as I head it is BELOW zero (it was 19 below the other night). OMFG. I have to go, lots to do over there. Lots to do everywhere for that matter.

Gotten used to the USA way of life again, been here since August and there are some things here that are much easier than in Europe. You don't have to force a smile out of anyone, people are happy- rich or poor, they are still happier here. Making a living in NYC is much harder, but the mood is better in general. Gas prices are SUPER low now (filled my tank for $20 the other night). GREAT FOOD everywhere here. I gained 3 kilos since August (5 pounds?) but it seems the pounds went straight to my tits anyways, so I am not moaning. I will surely hate Berlin for the first few weeks, then I will grow to love it again and hate to leave. Never ending story! I would write more now but I have to do my sex columns.

I have some fun pics from our Sunday night out and will load them later
