NYC is still fabulous

The last few days I spent in Berlin, I was living off of 4 to 5 hours of sleep and loads of extra stress. I had ONE hour of sleep the “night” before I left for NYC so when I got on the plane, I was craving shut eye something fierce.

Finally back in NYC and started massaging as soon as I hit the ground.

Got a message that Adam of Maroon 5 wants a massage ASAP…

maroon_5_and_dot_SMALL

This was taken the last time I massaged Adam ^ and you can see his left arm wasn’t covered yet in his new tattoo:

Maroon 5 is on tour and I am handling their massage needs (sending out Dot Bots to any show they want a massage at) but Adam is in town just to finish his sleeve tattoo ^ above. I think it looks fucking awesome. Forgot the name of the tattoo artist, but I know it wasn’t done at Last Writes (where I had mine done).

Closer look ^

Anyways, after I massaged Adam I had to rush over to massage Billy Idol’s manager. I have also been taking care of the Billy Idol tour, massage wise. Going to see his show tomorrow here in the city. Super excited as he has Brian Tichy on drums, I LOVE watching Brian play. OMG!!

Jasmine starts University tomorrow, another OMG. We are preparing and getting ready to move her into her dorm tomorrow early. Sleep is a thing of the past for me. Still getting over 400 emails per day too. I can hear my heart beating, it’s that loud. Heart attack approaching soon, stay tuned. lol. PLUS all of my regular clients all want a massage (They say they have been waiting months) and every friend and relative all want to chat on the phone, I am gonna snap. Hoping things settle down soon, but that is never the case when you are anywhere near NYC. This place is alive and kicking and the energy it radiates is contagious and can not be stopped. The weather here is AMAZING. Hot, sunny, nice breeze!! FINALLY I got a bit of summer. YAY!!
Jasmine wants to go power walking, gotta go

Leaving Berlin for a while :(

Going mad here trying to pack for my trip to NYC. I will be there a few months, not even sure how long this time. I do NOT want to leave Berlin. I love it here now. How crazy is that? I always do things ass backwards, ugh!!

Anyhow, I interviewed Joe Jackson for the Exberliner magazine, the English magazine for Germany; same one I have been writing my sex column for since it began 6 years ago. Joe is very private and I was surprised he agreed to do the interview at all and NOW, I am proud to say, it is the cover story and his picture takes up the whole cover of the September issue. Guess I will only be able to see it online as I am leaving to NYC in a few days.

Recently I have had many friends pass through Berlin and I showed them around a bit, as much as I could. First, Norm, my buddy from San Diego and bassist for the band Hard Echo came to Berlin-

then Tina, Robin, John and Shirley who are ALL  into Frank Zappa as much as I am, came this past Monday, and they brought two friends along with them as well (they all went to thZappanale , the same Zappa festival I went to last summer). I sadly didn't make it this year, but will be there next summer, hopefully. They passed through Berlin and we all went out and explored and quoted Zappa all night, wicked fun!!

Here are some pics..

Hard Echo in the house!!  ^ (Norm is the Blonde and "Prince Harry" is on the right 🙂

Standard tourist spot, the bombed "blue church" on the Ku'Damm ^

Tina and I at Potsdamer Platz ^

Robin and I ^ at same tourist trap (gasp, pieces of the WALL! oh my my)

Robin, Shirley, Tina and John a the Brandenburger Tor (gate) ^

John, from Chicago, is a massive Zappa fan and knows Cynthia Plaster-Caster personally (hoping I can get a good deal on the Jimi Hendrix cock replica (below)  Laughing

Raising ^ HELL in Murry's Irish pub at 1am (they had to be at airport by 5am, YIKES!)

Looking forward to going back home to NYC, to see Jasmine and then up to CT  for my class reunion and THEN to Boston to visit friends, family and loved ones and my DAWGY Frankie is in CT waiting for me too, but I am truly gutted to leave Berlin. This time its really hard because I know Jasmine will be studying for 4 years in NYC, so coming back to Berlin won't be so urgent. I know people all over the world, but I have more real friends in Berlin than anywhere else. It takes YEARS to earn someone's friendship here in Berlin, but once you do, you can trust them with your house keys, bank card, child, everything. My heart is truly torn in two (Berlin/NYC). Funny thing is, Joe Jackson is in the same boat. He too loves Berlin and NYC and he too, can't decide. So we both go on, living in both places. It's great knowing someone else in the same boat. sigh.

I have to go pack

 Dr. Dot

Seitenstrangangina and other exciting activities happening in Berlin

I am not surprised that I am ill now. It's so great here in Germany, if you are ill, you call the Doctor, 24 hours a day, and they come to your house within 90 minutes. If you have insurance, it cost nothing, if you don't, it's like $80. Who has time to wait in a Doctors office anyways? I was told I have Bronchitis again (it never goes away, it lingers in your lungs if you have had pneumonia and it scars the tissue in your lungs). If your immune system is down (for example, if you have stress from people stabbing you in the back) you are bound to have a Bronchitis flare up. AND since I had my tonsils removed last September, when I get a sore throat, it happens further down and in German it's called Seitenstrangangina or some shit like that, it's not good! I am on antibiotics again and trying to rest. UGH!!

I don't smoke, barely ever have a glass of wine, eat fruti and veggies and still end up ill. Not fair. I see the old men when I pass the bar on my corner (it's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) and wonder how they manager to drink every day/night and still survive? wot? Anyhow, starting to pack for my trip to NYC and I tell you, it is hard to leave Berlin. I have FINALLY fallen in love with the place. I will be spending MUCH more time in NYC now that Jasmine is going to school there, so I feel like I am leaving Berlin for good, but I will still keep a flat here. Berlin is fucking cool (wish they would smile more and quit smoking heh heh).

Joe Jackson gave me the rare honor of interviewing him for the Exberliner magazine (September issue). He is very private and keeps to himself, hates the limelight, so I feel very privilaged. Joe is so fucking cool and he never even tries to be. Did I mention his favorite group is the Beatles and Frank Zappa? We get a long great, apart from his view on smoking. He is PRO and I am very CON. ha ha. Oh well, no two folks have the same point of view on everything, thank God, otherwise the world would be so boring.

I feel kind of good now that Lisa, the traitor is getting what she deserves; a big fat fine to pay and every manager/roadie/rock star/promoter in my address book knows of her stunt and will not be hiring her. Tsk tsk, don't bite the generous hand that teaches/feeds you.

On a different note….

My Dad just sent me a funny email, check it out:

Unsuccessful German Restaurants:

BlintzKrieg

What-a-Braten

BurgerKraut

“Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why, you had to hide away for so long”

I feel like Joe Btfsplk  lately. Not because I am dirty or scruffy, but because there is a fucking storm over my head wherever I go. While I was in NYC last time, it was cold and wet the whole time. Everyone said "This is SO weird, as it was gorgeous before you got here". While freezing in NYC, my friends in Berlin bragged about the hot weather and blue skies every day. I get to Berlin and it's fucking raining every day, gray skies and freezing. Wtf? Oh well. I guess one advantage of missing out on the sun is lack of sun damage to the skin. Many ask me how my skin stays so nice. I tell them "I never fucking see the sun". I either sleep too late, work on the computer and get out when it's already dark or wear 50 SPF sunblock if I do get out when the sun is out lol.

Anyways, I STILL haven't gotten done uploading all my France and Italy pictures. I mean, why even fucking bother now. UGH. I am so busy, my massage team is growing like MAD  and my sex columns keep me busy too. Then there are my massage clients, friends, 300+ emails a day. OMG, I need a break. Leaving again next month back to NYC for a long haul. I will miss Berlin. Not sure how long I can stay away from it this time as I have really FINALLY grown to love it. Sure, there are things I don't like about it, but you will have that anywhere you go. One good thing about Berlin is there are no forest fires, floods, hurricanes, tornados, earth quakes or many shootings. ha.

Jasmine is in town, but I only saw her once. Not happy about that. I find it hard to blog if I am not happy. Why log on here and dump a bad mood on you? I just can't. There is ALWAYS someone in the world that has it worse than you do, so my motto is, if you haven't anything FUN to say, shut up.

Joe Jackson came over this week for a massage. He is probably the only star (no, I forgot, Jerry Garcia too) that I have massaged but never asked for a picture or even an autograph. At this point, Joe and I are friends, so it would just be STRANGE. He, and Jerry, are just not the type. You never even get the feeling of wanting to ask them (yes, I fucking know Jerry is long gone, I mean, when he was alive). They both have this "I am not a star, so don't act like a fan" vibe. It's really cool. Joe doesn't like the whole show biz crap anyways.  He is so down to earth. He loves the Beatles and Zappa as much as I do, so we get on perfectly. Only thing we butt heads over is the smoking vs anti-smoking arguments. He smokes and hates the idea of a smoking ban. I hate smoking and smoky places and LOVE the smoking ban. ha.

Anyhow, here in Berlin I don't massage nearly as much as I do when I am in the USA. There I massage ALL the time until my fingers hurt (and that takes a long time to happen). Berlin is just so laid back and slow paced. No one gives a FUCK about earning money (OR spending any). They really do live for today. Hippie bastards. Ha ha. Just kidding . I am the ONLY cunt in my building that listens to anything even remotely "hippie". The others listen to techno shit. ew. I blast Led Zepp, Beatles and Zappa right back at them. (Frank would roll his eyes if he heard me mention his name in the same paragraph as "hippie". It is 7am and I am still awake. I have a massive sleep disorder. When you work at home, and there is no one nagging you to "come to bed" you can end up working all the time without any structure. But I actually love the fact no one tells me what to do. Freedom is one of the most important things to me.

" Give me my freedom for as long as I be.
All I ask of living is to have no chains on me.
All I ask of living is to have no chains on me,
And all I ask of dying is to go naturally.
Oh I want to go naturally.

And when I die, and when I'm gone,
There'll be one child born
In this world to carry on,
to carry on."

A different Georiga on my mind part 1 (part 2 found here: http://drdot.blog-city.com/greetings_from_georgia_former_soviet_union.htm )

Berlin is treating me WELL these days. Saturday night I massaged Ronald Steven Lauder the youngest son of Estee Lauder. For some reason I thought the family was French and was surprise to find out he is from Brooklyn. Ha! Super funny guy who LIVES for massage. He is currently building a massage room in his house. He told me my massage was the best one he has ever had, so maybe I will be massaging he and his wife in that massage room when I get my arse back to NYC.

TONIGHT was even better. I massaged the best looking President on earth, Mikheil Saakashvili . < click to read more about him)..He is the President of Georgia and super fun to talk to. He originally wanted only a 30 minute massage but 90 minutes later, he told me my massage is "the best massage I have had in my life so far". Mikheil had body gaurds outside the massage room the whole time, who were all over 6 feet tall and like 4 feet wide. One spoke English really well and told me his favorite group is Metallica. Ha. He said "I am a rocker!" so we got along fine, whilst waiting for the President to finish his work out. I was excited to finally get to massage a President. I have massaged the Prince of Saudi Arabia before and a few Mayors, but this was the first President for me.

During the massage 'Mr. President' was very witty. I was massaging his massive neck and told him "wow! Your neck is so tense!" and he answered "no kidding, I have RUSSIA sitting on it!". We both laughed so hard. I was feeling comfortable and asked him if he had ever been to Georgia, as in, Atlanta Georgia and he laughed and said of course. Then I took it even further and asked him if he's ever heard "Georgia on my mind" from Ray Charles. I was laughing while I asked him and said "these are just stupid questions reporters aren't allowed to ask you" ha!!  I told him my family lives in Georgia (they are from New England but migrated South to Atlanta, k?). He said I should come to visit the COUNTRY Georgia, and I said I was too scare, I mean, I can't even point it out on the fucking map. He assured me if I came, his security would look after me. SOOOO I may be going to Georgia this summer. He swears they LOVE Americans there. I told him that is probably the ONLY place on earth that "loves Americans".He said he studied at Columbia University in NYC and lived in Washington DC, which he said are his favorite two places in the US.

Even his body gaurd's faces lit up when I told them I am American. The Pres and I were cracking jokes about how serious Germans are. LMFAO!! He said "We Georgians are the complete opposites of Germans" ha!! Now I can't wait to go and discover this mysterious country that has only 5 million people in it, yet has their own Playboy magazine (you know, Playboy UK, Playboy Germany, Playboy GEORGIA!". He told me that. We talked about that because I had just told him I write for Penthouse Forum and gave him a copy (the copy which has yours truly on the cover). He asked me a lot of questions to, about where I learned massage, about my family and life. I try to avoid talking during a massage but if someone is chatty, we chat. Sometimes we were silent, as when I massage, it's hard work and it's hard to talk and massage deep tissue at the same time, I start breathing hard and I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea. heh heh.

After the massage, he was in a super good mood and even posed with me. I didn't even BOTHER bringing my good Sony camera as I thought, nah, he would never pose with a rock and roll massage therapist. BUT he did, so my blackberry camera had to do:

NOTE: PART 2 OF THIS CAN BE FOUND HERE: http://drdot.blog-city.com/greetings_from_georgia_former_soviet_union.htm

I told him I massage a lot of rock stars and he asked which ones, I told him a few names, Kiss, Sting, The Stones… and he said "I feel honored now!" ha ha! He is so fucking cool! Genuinely friendly, not diplomatically friendly, know what I mean? He had his body gaurds send down to bottles of Georgian wine "Mukuzani, Special Reserve, aged in French barrels for 20 months" and 100 euro tip. What a man!!!!!!!!  He now has a new fan.

Oh, by the way, when I arrived to massage the President at his hotel, there was a BIG FUCKING FUSS;  LOADS of security outside and no one was allowed in a that moment because Ms. Rice (Condoleezza Rice, National Security Advisor) was about to enter the same hotel. I told the cops, "the freaking president of Georgia is waiting for a massage, let me in!" ha ha. They didn't believe me at first, but after a walkie talkie check, I was escorted in. This hotel is happenin' at the moment. Not allowed to say which hotel right now…. I am behaving.

Foreigner in NYC

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

No, I am not a Foreigner in NYC, I mean the Rock Group FOREIGNER played in NYC last night at Gotham Hall..well, it wasn't open to the public, it was a private show and luckily for me the band invited me and my girlfriend Brooke to come and watch. The night BEFORE was also AMAZING. I don't even know where to start anymore, I have so much to write I am feeling rather swamped. I still haven't even finished my France, Rome and Florence blog yet! YIKES!!!!!!  Freaking out here!!

Let me jump back to this past December to my first Foreigner blog (click  HERE to read it) so you can get a feel of how much this band has been growing on me. Some of my friends wind me up telling me "enough with the FOREIGNER already!!!". ha ha. But I surely don't have to remind anyone that good old fashioned rock and roll bands are far and few in between and this band is not only amazing in concert, they are also fun as FUCK to hang out with; even the managers and crew are a blast to be around. Sigh. I have had NO sleep at all since Monday; since Foreigner rolled into town. Ha ha.

My pal Tom Gimbel , rythm guitarist, sax player and backing vocals had some free time, as did the drummer, Brian Tichy and their tour manager assistant Eric so we all went to Arlene's Groceries for some LIVE karaoke. It was so surreal, I am still smirking about it right now as I type. I signed up to sing Back in Black and Brian  stepped in and took to the drums (you see, this is live karaoke, as in you don't sing to a tiny TV, you actually sing lead vocals with a KICK ASS band. They have this every Monday night at Arlene's ).

The guitarist ^  of the karaoke band is out of this world good. He's from Northern Ireland and has a very charming accent by the way (not that it matters, I'm just sayin')

I was kinda nervous about having a stand in drummer, I mean, did he even KNOW Back in Black? There were no rehearsals or anything but what the hell, he seemed overly confident, so we went for it. HOLY FUCKING SHIT can this guy play drums. Sigh. It sounded like we had all jammed together for years. He beats the shit out of the drums and the MC even said "that is the loudest fucking drummer I have ever heard in my life" heh heh. It was PERFECT.

Then Tom came on stage, took the mic (audience was now aware of the fact the Foreigner was in the HOUSE) and Tom sang "Hot Blooded" with Brian on drums again. The crowd was creaming their jeans. It was fantastic. I have videos of all this, and will post them ASAP. Again, I am swamped as FUCK. The house drummer was "not amused" at Brian playing two songs, but things got even worse after Brian chugged a few drinks and got antsy, like musicians do (the want to be on stage playing, NOT watching) so Brian went on stage again (without an invite ha ha) with some Mexican dude he made friends with and the dude sang "living on a prayer" by Bon Jovi and Brian, once again, tore it UP! He was PERFECT. I was swooning over his ability to just jump in on any song and NAIL IT. Improv at it's BEST!

Tour manager/assistant Eric acts as baby sitter/buddy while out with the band ^

;

 Tom and Brooke ^

The band were all impressed that Brooke is an Opera singer. She is also a karaoke DJ on the side. When she sings rock and roll, it's like butter. The girl has amazing PIPES! (her "lungs" are pretty impressive too 😉

Mick ^ founder of the band, is really polite, friendly, calm…great guy!

Tom told us we had to dress REALLY nice as it was a Black Tie affair. He saw us and said "oh Lord! Lay low until the band starts and the lights are low, so all the wives (not wives of the band, wives of the rich business men there) don't freak out. Most of them were wearing what appeared to be prom dresses. ugh.

Jeff the Bass player is SUPER cool and is usually the one needing massage the most.

Info about Jeff:

Jeff Pilson (born in Lake Forest, Illinois, USA) is an American bass guitarist specializing in the heavy metal music genre.

He was a member of popular 1980s heavy metal bands Dokken and Dio. He currently has his own progressive metal group called War and Peace, which was formed in 1993, releasing two albums: 1993's War and Peace and 2004's The Walls Have Eyes. He also works with his ex-Dokken bandmate, guitarist George Lynch in a two-member group called Lynch/Pilson.

He also played in the band Wild Horses (not to be confused with the British band of the same name).

Although he is a renowned primarily for his work as a bass guitarist, Pilson also plays guitar and keyboards.

He played a member of the band Steel Dragon in the 2001 film Rock Star as well as playing on the film's soundtrack.

Pilson is currently the bass player for seventies rock band Foreigner.

Tom in action ^

As I said, Tom told us that since it was a DELL computer private corporate show, for 400 people tops, we should lay low and let the ol' corporate, rich wives shine. We did….for MOST of the night. During "I want to know what love is" we couldn't take it anymore and slinked onto the dance floor, slowly moving towards the stage. There was A LOT of lighting in the place and it was a small hall, so the band could see EVERYONE on the dance floor. Brooke and I slow danced, DIRECTLY in front of the stage, grinding into eachother, squeezing each others buttocks but never cracking a smile. We gazed into each others eyes and ignored the whole room on purpose just to wind the band up. It was so fucking funny distracting the band with our loving slow dance (have you seen the film The Wedding singer? When Drew Barrymore slow dances with the young boy who grabs her butt the whole time?) – well that's what we were doing. It was hysterical. The band naturally told us ALL about it after, saying how hard it was to concentrate lol. I thought they would be mad at us, but we were tired of behaving for so long. heh heh.

Kelly ^ has a slight resemblance to Steven Tyler but I have never told him so. Rock stars hate being compared to other artist.

Don't know why Brian has that look on his face. He must be tired from the night before- too much karaoke!

 Ahhhhhh, lovin' life

Isn't Brooke cute?

Uh, never seen a white bike like that before. Had to mount it.

After the show we all went to an Irish pub near their hotel as the Hotel Bar was lame as fuck and closed early. It's NYC, the place that "never sleeps"? I don't think so. Berlin never sleeps. NYC naps.

Apparently Brooke makes me sweat ^

Eric got the karaoke bug too and sang some Chris Isaak for us.

Brooke and Mike Bluestein Foreigner keyboardist ^  has a hell of a resume'

May 17th, 2008 (look how long it takes me to blog now a days)

Over the two days we hung with the band, they grew to LOVE my driving (and my JBL speakers/sound system) in my car. Some of them preferred to have me drive them to and from rather than hired vans. HEH! My stereo by the way, was louder than the gig. The band was tight as FUCK but the acoustics in that hall are crap. Lots of echo…so the band had to keep it down a bit. But I doubt they cared, corporate gigs (DELL) always pay well 😉

If the band is heading your way, you should try to catch their show. I have seen over 3,000 shows and they are one of the tightest bands live, ever.

Random NYC moments

Working on my France and Italy blogs, I swear. It's raining and COLD here in NYC but that does NOT keep me inside. My very good friend Chrissi and I went out the other night for karaoke. I did NOT know it was her first time.

I watched her pop her karaoke cherry and didn't even know it until AFTER she brought the fucking house down doing "I'm torn". She danced all around, held the mic like she had been doing so for years. Then after the song she said "it wasn't as scary as I thought!". I was like "uh, what do you mean?" She told me it was REALLY her first time ever. I was shocked. She was a natural pro! Not a shy cell in her body. Then again, her dad is a rather famous musician so it must be in her genes.

Chrissi luckily got our of the US Army just in time as she was just about to be shipped to Iraq. Now she is back home and enjoying her favorite hobby Sky Diving on a regular basis. She is FEARLESS. I need to call Simon Cowell, this girl belongs on American Idol. She's GOT IT.
