New Years Day 2009 Central Park and Belvedere Castle

I am sure you had more fun than I did on New Years Eve. I laid down around 5pm and didn't get up until 2pm on New Years Day. Thing is, my belly has been in turmoil the whole time I was in Key West and it still is. Didn't find out until too late, that the drinking water in Key West is full of bacteria "fecal e-coli bacteria " ew!!!!!!!!! My own fault for drinking tap water. I won't do it again. UGH!

So, after almost 20 hours in bed, with pooh and my MAC (watching some Survivor episodes- my new favorite show), I decided to take a walk and get some fresh (and fucking FREEZING) air in Central Park. It was pretty much empty apart from some brave German tourists (I could hear them chatting away in German) as they are used to strolling around on Holidays and Sundays, regardless of the weather.

A new book I came across called "NFT " (Not for Tourist) lead me to this Castle called "Belvedere Castle". I had never knew it even existed before.

BIG difference in clothing compared to just the other day when I was just wearing a bikini in FLA. brrrrrrrrr. I feel like the Michelin Man in all of these layers.

Oh well, I do indeed miss Florida already. I miss the sun and the warmth badly. I will have to lick my wounds a few more days and get up and at 'em though again, as you do. It felt good NOT being hung over on New Years Day though.

Cold or not, I still LOVE NYC.

I may have had a boring New Years eve, but I had one of the best Christmas eve's I have ever had.

John Lennon vigil 2008 in Strawberry Fields, NYC

Last night at around 10 minutes past midnight (it had just turned Dec 8th), I drove to 72nd street, corner of Central Park west to the Dakota building. There was NO ONE around, not even a guard. I sat in my car blasting Hide your love away, feeling eeire- thinking this is the same spot John Lennon was shot in 1980. Imagining that horrible scene gives you a nasty chill, especially when you are at the scene of the crime. Then an overwhelming feeling of sadness comes over you. Hard to describe, you just have to visit the place to FEEL what I mean.

Every year on Dec 8th Beatles fans gather in Strawberry Fields  to sing Beatles and John Lennon songs. I got there around 7 pm at night, it was naturally dark and FREEZING BEYOND belief (20 degrees fahrenheit/-1 celcius) AND it was windy as FOOK.

The bitter weather didn't stop the vigil. Every one sings along to the 5 or 6 guitarist who were in the middle of the circle they formed around the Imagine mosaic. I went alone, didn't know anyone there- and just sang along with everyone, as you do. It felt SO NICE to be around other Beatle fans. SO FUCKING AWESOME.

It was extremely difficult to get a picture or get anywhere close to the middle.. so many swarmed around it.. I had to stand on tippie-toes and take these pictures (not a place to get even slightly pushy so you just wait and try)

Not sure how long the guitarists were all there, but I could only take an hour of the brutal cold. My toes were frozen solid and I had a hard time walking back to my car as my toes would not bend anymore; I looked like marching soldier the way I was walking, lol, trying to avoid bending icy toes out of fear they would have snapped in two lol. Only hardcore Beatles freaks were there, you could tell. Everyone knew every word to every song and people were even making the electric guitar notes in 'Something'

When I left they were in the middle of 'Let it be'. No sign of Yoko this year. She did come out to the vigil in 2005 though.

After the vigil I went to an amazing wine bar and met some wonderful new friends. You just never know who you will meet in this city. Then I met up with Jonesy and we went and did some karaoke. I sang "Helter Skelter" as my Beatles tune for the night. I wore a Beatles shirt too to show love. John Lennon; gone but never, ever forgotten. Mark David Chapman – may you rot in hell.

Jimi Hendrix Birthday Bash at BB Kings – what a blast that was

So after a lovely Spanksgiving Thursday, I dropped Jasmine off home and headed to BB Kings (42nd street) to the Jimi Hendrix 66th Birthday Bash to see my friend Lance Lopez do his thang. I get invited to so many shows to see friends play and hardly ever have time to go see them, but this time I went ( I am a HUGE Hendrix fan). First to go on stage was Jimi's REAL brother, Leon (same mom and dad). Sadly I missed his set due to typical NYC traffic hell.

BUT I still got to hang out with Leon, who is very friendly and charming. I heard from the others he has only started playing guitar 5 years ago; perhaps that's why he went on first? I told him straight up "I would have been one of those ladies that fucked the hell out of your brother given the chance. His music turns me ON". I have to admit, the thought of procreating with Hendrix DNA did cross my mind, for  a sec.  Heh heh.

The Staff at the BB King are so friendly to me, I get VIP treatment when I show up and I don't even ask for it, but I'm like, "ok".. why not? I did insist on paying though ($50) to see the show, hey, musicians bust their BALLS doing what they do, and if I really want to see a band, I pay. I know how it feels, having my own band in Berlin (Bitchfest) when 200 people show up and half are on the guest list and you earn FUCK ALL after all the rehearsal room costs, flyers, PR etc..

Anyhow, I got a great seat and watched Lance in awe. I just about got off listening to him play Hendrix tunes, PERFECTLY. It was like Jimi came down and channeled himself through him. The voice, the guitar lics, omfg, I wanted to get up and dance my ass off, but everyone was seated and so head bobbing and though slapping was the norm. Lance got a standing ovation after EVERY SONG!!

The guy who came on after Lance, Frank Marino MUST have received the headlining slot out of habit, as he was sloppy (some said it's because he is in his mid 60's, but that never stops BB King when he plays) and at times it really sounded to me like the band skipped crucial beats which made it sound to me like a record skipping. He did an amazing job at the star spangled banner though, I must admit. BUT watching Lance Lopez play first and THEN having to endure Frank after was just like having an outrageously perfect shag and THEN having a lonesome wank after. No comparison. Not exaggerating here folks, Lance nailed it. PLUS, Lance only needed THREE in his band, as in, him plus two, just like Jimi, to do it right. Frank needed an extra guitar player. Yawn.

It was Heaven for Hendrix fans. sigh, purrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It has inspired me to hurry up and get that Hendrix tattoo I have been putting off for so long. I asked Jasmine to draw me a Hendrix head which I will have tatttooed on me, not sure where yet. Leon said he "REALLY wants to see it, in the flesh", once it's done ๐Ÿ™‚

Do to the hurried blur called 'my life lately', I forgot my camera in the car and had to make due with my Crackberry camera. Hence the crappy quality pictures. sigh.

Lance just sent me a text message with his set list he played at BB Kings last night:

1. Midnight. 2. Hear my train .3. Gypsy eyes .4. One rainy wish .5. Izabella .6. Them changes .7. Voodoo Chile slight return

Dr. Dot

STAIND in NYC

I am so fucking unbelievably behind with blogging, answering emails (I have over 1,000 unread emails now) and my fingers are KILLING me from too many massages. Last night (I am still up, it's 9am) I massaged the manager for Ac/Dc in NJ, then drove like a bat outta hell to NYC to massage STAINED and Papa Roach (old friends). They played at the Hammerstein Ballroom.. sounded good, what I heard of the show, but the highlight was hanging out with Stained front man Aaron on his bus while he talked business to many big wig record company folks and managers.

He stopped the convo and says "This is Dr. Dot. Her massage team can NOT be beat. I have never had anything short of an AMAZING massage from everyone of her Dot Bots on the road!". They all asked for my flyer and seemed into his pitch. I LOVE that kind of PR, it can not be beat. Gene Simmons did it the other night too backstage at Ac/Dc. He announced to the dressing room "Dr. Dot gives the best massage in the world everybody, come get her business card!". OMG, Gene doing a commercial for my massage team. I thought I died and went to rock and roll heaven.

I have SO MANY FUCKING BLOGS to write I don't even know where to start. I have not even finished my ITALY Blog, started the Boston or Florida blog, Flogging Molly, Ac/Dc, The Answer, and the other night Project Object (with Ike Willis and Ed Mann at the BB King club- omfg, it was PERFECT, "the band was tight!"). Head is spinning I have so much to do, when will it slow down? Never I am guessing. I did have dinner with Jasmine the other night and massaged her feet in the restaurant as usual :). Man I love her. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

is a DEEP TISSUE massage junkie ^

It was great to see Papa Roach again. Tobin (left) and Coy (right) have grown up a LOT since the last time I have seen them (2000 in Berlin). I beat Coby at table soccer really badly and he still remembers lol. BUT Eric Clapton beat me really badly, so you win some, you loose some.

Look at the old picture of Coby and I, see how different he looks; I barely recognized him!

You can see Tobin, ^ again on the left. He has changed a lot too

But then again, he must have though the same about me. ha ha.

They have been on tour for 10 years straight. I hope they make it big. I am not a fan of the music, you KNOW I am a classic rock fan, but I like these guys personally and they deserve sucess for sweating it out on the road for so long. It is TOUGH on the road. Real tough.

I'm playing every original Beatles song (189 in total) in one day on ukulele,
At Spike Hill in Wiliamsburg, Brooklyn, Sunday, Dec 7, 2008, noon to midnight. I need Singers!
Here's the set list, Write back to me and claim your songs. We are doing them in alphabetical order and will confirm and hopefully rehearse with you in advance. You can bring a band or just let me accompany you on uke, the only provision being we play the song in the same key as The Beatles. i don't mind slowing down or speeding up but changing keys 189 times is just too much.

Motรถrhead fires up NYC (Roseland Ballroom, 2008)

I know this blog is late, but as they say, better late than never Kiss

As always,  Motörhead pulled through, showed everyone a good time and put on a fantastic show. They always treat me like family and let me bring two of my friends backstage to say hi and hang out. Phil was generous with the champagne, Reese's peanut butter cups (he has LOADS of them in his dressing room) and pizza.

Awaiting me at the box office window was a few tickets AND laminated passes. That's always a good thing. It was sold out, packed to the brim.

That is my friend Jill ^. She is from England but spends A LOT of time here in NYC. The guy in the red cowboy hat on your blog is GASS WILD.

His band is called THE LOVE PIRATES . Super nice bloke. Jill is a ROCK chick to the core. She wrote her own blog about the Motorhead show:

"New York!,we are Motorhead and we play Rock and Roll!"

So I went to see Motorhead last night with Dr Dot,it was insanely good.I had an "all access' pass courtesy of Dot and the band.I've now decided I cannot see another show in my lfe without one of these things, lol…ahhh the heady power.

We watched the gig from a slightly elevated area to the side of the stage. The venue was packed, the fans on the ground level were mental, the mosh pit was one of the most dangerous looking i've ever seen!,the security guys really earned their crust last night.

Having said that, even though the mosh area was bordering on riot, they all looked to be having fun.

Motorhead, well what can I say??these phuckers turn their shit up to way past 11,they are tight as hell and sound the business, special shout out to Mickey D who played some blinding drums. Also I couldn't help noticing what great thighs Lemmy has,Dot reckons it's from all the shagging.Yeah,so all in all a blistering set, those mofo's can RAWWWWWWWWWK!

Backstage….

Now,i'm not saying Lemmy's moles have their own gravitational pull….but ermm…..anyway,lol.I met him,he was lovely, charming even. His dressing room was filled with an assortment of girls as you would expect and I thought"uh oh the potential for more cock-blocking incidents are high tonight"(see previous blog),however it didn't happen,I talked to him and got a photo which you can see in my comments section.I can't put my pics in album section as i'm using a computer at an internet caff.

Most of the time we hung out in Phil's dressing room as Dot is good mates with him.It was quite a surreal experience,I made a mental note of all the things on their riders, lot's of alcohol of course but thankfully no bowls of "green only" M+M's or wotever wanky thing David Lee Roth once requested, lol.I also thought there's a lot of ego stroking which has to go on with a band, ego stroking and reassurance I suppose, thought to myself it must be exhausting if you work for the band or are a girlfriend or something.Fortunately in this instance it would be easy to stroke their ego's coz they were brilliant but what about times when they are shit?people must tell them they were great anyway?Don't think I could do that,if you were shit, you're gonna know about it, no doubt my back-stage privileges would soon be revoked, lol.

Also spoke to Mickey D briefly, he has awesome 1980's hair and is from Sweden, Phil is Welsh, Lemmy English.

I think I left at about 2am,Dot had to go get her massage table out of the car,the work never ends for that chick.

Bizzarely, last night I dreamt of Lemmy and I was sitting on his lap and he asked me"when was the last time you went to church?"

Strange huh?

Wotever could it mean?"

Jill

That's me, Phil and Greg, my NYPD friend. Hey! Never judge a book by it's cover. Greg is a heavy metal head who travels to every country he can. He is open minded, has a sharp sense of humor, is well mannered and currently single, ladies ๐Ÿ˜‰

Phil asked Greg to play a joke and go into the opening act's band dressing room and whip out his NYPD badge and scream "ok, who has the weed mother fuckers! NYPD!! Get up against the wall!!" He kept in character the whole time and started frisking one guy and they guy was obviously used to the drill as he said "you better be a real cop mister!". Phil and I watched on with a shocked look on our face to make it seem real. Then Phil started laughing, as did Greg and every one was cracking up. The one against the wall took a minute to give in and laugh over the fact he had just be punked big time. ha ha

Go for it Phil!! Here he is playing my favorite Motörhead tune "just cause you've got the power".. sigh

Pure ROCK AND FUCKING ROLL!  ^

Watching the fans mosh pit from this angle was so fucking fun. I can't believe the shit these rowdy rockers were doing throughout the show. I am surprised no one died. lol.

Mickey Dee had a dressing room FULL of hot babes. We had to plow our way through them to say hi. "Oh Mickey you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind, hey Mickey, Hey Mickey" (surely that song was about Mickey Dee, no?)

Jesus fucking CHRIST! Can you look any more apathetic Lemmy? Some one get an espresso, quick, before he fucking dozes off.

I didn't take this video footage personally, but I snagged it from youtube so you can have a listen/look at the show..

Frank Zappa- timeless

You know I am hiding from you right? I know I have to blog, I know, I KNOW. I massaged Kim Raver (24/Lipstick Jungle) tonight for two hours.. coolest thing ever- she has a video baby monitor, looks like a walkie talkie, but you can push a button and see a screen that shows her baby (11 months old) in bed, in the other room. Tiny camera above bed has infra-red abilities and you can see the cutie lying there sleeping.

You can hear it too. He started crying once and we could see her husband picking up the baby, making the baby calm again and then putting baby back to sleep. OMFG. All this modern tech. makes me want to have another one so I can see how easy it CAN be. (I did everything the hard way- cotton diapers, no dryer, couldn't speak the language yet, didn't know any one and baby's dad and I were too broke to pay attention). No internet, no cell, just land line. jeeze, looks easier now somehow. Baby is sick? Google the fucking symptoms and you're golden. Cool! I had to drag baby all the way across town to a German doctor and struggle with the language (mostly sign at that point) lol.

Kim is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gorgeous. I can't help thinking how many men I know would PAY to massage her. Schwing.

Kim is a regular client of mine, she is so mad cool and smart as a whip too. Her husband is one lucky man I tell you. I am all over the place, going to massage Motorhead the next couple days and Herbie Hancock again next week, no time for sleep. omg. It's 6am and I still have like 503 unread emails to answer. FLIPPING OUT.

I was just reading the lyrics to an OLD Frank Zappa song and hey, they still hold true to this day in the state we are in..

Frank was a smart Mo Fo!

"Mr. america, walk on by your schools that do not teach
Mr. america, walk on by the minds that wont be reached
Mr. america try to hide the emptiness thats you inside
But once you find that the way you lied
And all the corny tricks you tried
Will not forestall the rising tide of hungry freaks daddy!

They wont go on four no more
Great mid-western hardware store
Philosophy that turns away
From those who arent afraid to say whats on their minds
The left behinds of the great society

Hungry freaks, daddy!

Mr. america, walk on by your supermarket dream
Mr. america, walk on by the liquor store supreme
Mr. america try to hide the product of your savage pride
The useful minds that it denied
The day you shrugged and stepped aside
You saw their clothes, and then you cried,
Those hungry freaks, daddy!

They wont go on four no more
Great mid-western hardware store
Philosophy that turns away
From those who arent afraid to say whats on their minds
The left behinds of the great societ"

Stereophonics in NYC

Seeing the Stereophonics again was so fun. It's not everyday I get to massage a band that looks as good as they sound. They are ear and eye candy. Even listening to them talk is fun. Three of the guys in the band are from Wales (singer, bass, keyboards), one from Birmingham (guitar) and the drummer is from Argentina. A great mix.

Jasmine took this shot ^ without flash (she HATES flash)
A Security guard took this one (with flash- I love flash) heh heh

As you can see ^ they played the Webster Hall and they sold it out. It was heaving with people who seemed to know the words to every song. As I walked through the crowd, I noticed most of the crowd was Scottish, Irish, English, Welsh and a of course some were yanks. This band is getting bigger all the time, more and more popular and for good reason. They sound AMAZING.

Jasmine and I met briefly and ate something while the opening act played (sorry, I have a tiny attention span). I massaged the Stereophonics earlier on and wanted to give them some space and eat with Jasmine. We ate at the BEST falafel place in NYC (it's called Tahini ). OMG. Naturally I invited her to the show, just like I invited her to meet Gene Simmons the other night, but she is focused and not letting me be a bad, rock and roll influence on her. Yay. Mission accomplished. Raise a well focused child ๐Ÿ™‚

Adam wasn't with the band the last time I massaged them in Berlin (see that BLOG )

Javier told me he got his Salvador Dali inspired tattoos by a Tattoo artist based in Paris named Tin Tin

I LOVE the moments before show time when a band warms up ^

Standard dressing room behavior now a days, MAC in hand

Kelly is so fucking sweet. He showed me pictures of his two daughters, omg, SUPER CUTE!!!

He told me where Broccoli got it's name. He said it comes from the Cauliflower family, it's the brother of Cauliflower actually, hence the name BRO-Cauli (get it?) ha ha.

Adam is the one from Birmingham. He accent is heavier than my Stepmothers gravy.

This is one of the hardest bands to photograph; they never hold still and their light show is outrageous. I am lucky I got these two live shots.

I can not stress the fact enough how perfect the sound was. This must be the BEST venue to play in NYC. The band nailed it. Sold out show, sounded spectacular and everyone was singing along, dancing, sweating together and happy as fook.

So, there is the set list Chris (manager) peeled off the dressing room wall for me ^

They played for nearly two hours and seemed to never tired. I am surprised Kelly had any voice left after the gig, he sings so unique, hard to describe, in fact, you would have to hear/see them on youtube to know what I mean. Also, Kelly and Adam took turns playing lead guitar, which was cool.

All bands want time to themselves after they get off stage. They want to dry off, shower, have a drink and calm down from the huge adrenaline rush they get from playing live on stage. So, I waited outside their dressing room, on a tiny, cushy chair, reading emails on my blackberry when three people came and stood RIGHT in front of me. I had both feet on the chair, barefoot and heavily into my crackberry. One of my foot slipped and hit the guy RIGHT in front of me in the back of his leg. He turned around and said "oh, I am sorry, am I in your way, should I move?". He thought I kicked him on purpose. I said "sorry, did I hit you?", then he said "sorry, I'm in your way right?" ha ha. Anyways, I told him he wasn't in my way and the girl he was with, gets close to my ear and asks if I am with the band. I told her yes, I am their massage therapist for the evening. In her heavy English accent she tells me her name and says she is with Chase Crawford of Gossip girl and he wants to meet the band and asked if I could help them.

I have never seen the show, but have heard/read of it and felt like a right cunt for kicking Chase Crawford in the back of the leg, even if it was accidental. OMFG. Certainly I would help them meet the band now, now that I almost knocked him down lol. I texted the manager and told him and we had to wait a while as they STILL need to dry off. So Chase wants to try out my hands, so naturally, (look at him ok?) I was happy to oblige. How the fuck can someone be so good looking? Jesus. Last time I was face to face with such a perfect looking man was when I met Josh Hartnett backstage at Live 8. He was as friendly as he could be without pissing his date, Scarlett Johansson off. She was NOT happy at all that he was talking to other females. wtf? She's one of the most gorgeous women alive, so why the 'tude? Pffft! Needless to say, it didn't last. Anyways, so I rubbed Chase down for a while and he tells me that it's the "best massages he's ever had" and he took my card and said he will definitely be calling. Behave. It's just a massage. But hey, one can still think "schwing" or not? Happy to let you know, Chase isn't just beautiful, he is polite, friendly and sweet (and he has a great taste in music). I can only imagine how many girls swoon for this young man.

Feast your eyes on these lovely lads ladies!  (and poop pushers) ^

You know I am bad with names. The blonde is from Glasgow and the Brunette is American. Both fun, we hung out and went to the pub after with the band where everyone feasted on chicken wings and Guinness (not me, I had ONE glass of wine as I drive). I sat in between Kelly and Adam and wouldn't have traded my spot for anything. Super cozy and loads of laughs with these two. We spoke of Paul Weller and their recent gig up in Toronto with Oasis and Weller (did you hear a crazy fan pushed Noel off stage DURING the show?? wtf!!)

You can SEE a video of it HERE   (it happens at 1 minute 28 seconds). Feel sorry for Noel, he is a sweet heart, really! Fucking idiots attacking artists on stage (or killing them like with Pantera). What is the world coming to eh? Peace people, peace.

Last pic ^ I massaged Roberts (bassist) left hand for ages. They have been touring for over a year now and I think they need a break soon, they are all aching and I could tell they need a break. Touring is SO hard on the body, it's ridiculous. Better them than me, I am not into touring anymore, no matter how cushy the tour (the Rolling Stones for example) it still drains ya. Your sleeping and eating routine gets really out of wack (like my sleep "routine" could be any worse) and you meet strangers every day, everyone talks your fucking ears off and the artist have to be nice to everyone and miss their loved ones at home. I feel sorry for them and the least I can do is give them a massage and make them laugh a bit, to show musicians how grateful I am, at least, for doing what they do. "Music is the best" FZ

It's now 8am and I have to get to bed (couldn't sleep until I crapped this blog out)

Last but not least, Stereophonics tour dates (guess they're not taking a break yet ๐Ÿ™‚

 STEREOPHONICS ON MYSPACE

Burning candle at both ends (as usual)

Last night (Thursday) I massaged Gene Simmons (we watched the pathetic Republican Convention- what a crock of SHIT that was). Then directly after Jim Norton (comedian you see on most Comedy Central Roasts and you hear every morning if you get the Opy and Anthony show). I have known Jim, who wrote a book called "Happy Endings", for years. Hmmmm, he has never asked for one, so I wonder wtf that is about? lol. Jim is a self confessed massage WHORE, he gets them all the time, mostly from me, but if I am away, from my team or other therapists, he has to have them.

I am so tired I am going to cry. It is 9am and I am STILL up. By the way,  Gene is in NYC because he just appeared on the Today Show. From Gene's blog:

GENE SIMMONS Keynote Speaker
at AARP CONVENTION, WASH DC

Heading out to NY to do the TODAY SHOW to promo my forthcoming Keynote Speech at the Annual AARP CONVENTION on September 6th in Washington DC, in front of 30,000 people.
Then head off to Toronto on September 7th for a Charity Event hosted by Magna, the world's largest auto parts entity.

Gene is so fucking cool, omg!Oh, he turned me on to a show I have never heard of, probably because it's on the Cartoon Network lol, It's called Robot Chicken . WICKED FUNNY.

The night before, I went and saw one of my best friends, Jonesy , do his live stand up comedy act at the EastVille Comedy club . He is there every Wednesday. Super funny!!! I predict Jonesy is going to be as big as Jim Carrey someday, mark my words. He is the fucking BOMB!! We are both New Englanders and have the same smart ass sense of humor. We bond!

I can't write anymore, I am falling asleep here. The sun is out, it looks like it will be another scorcher! Oh, last night in NYC, I saw numerous Cock Roachers! OMFG!! They are everywhere (so is garbage). I do miss the clean streets of Berlin right about now. I was talking to a woman on the street out side the hotel I I massaged Gene at, and a fucking Cock Roach landed on her neck. We both flipped out, hysterical, screaming, omfg!!!!! She said some of them can fly? Holy fuck, if it landed on me, I would have passed out. I loathe those seedy mother fuckers.
