My name is Akiko.

I have worked as a freelance photographer both for the press and the music industry during the last 10 years, although I have always felt attracted by natural therapies and energetic healing.

I thus decided to take up another of my passions and became a masseuse. I was very interested in the technique of Thai massage and decided to get trained directly in Thailand to learn traditional Thai massage. My first trip to Thailand was 5 years ago. Since then, I have given massages to private customers.

Thai massages are best practiced on the floor and I usually use a futon, although I can also work with a massage table. During events and forums, I practice the massage Amma where the client is seated on a chair.

My name is Andrew and I’m a qualified massage therapist from Australia.

Born and bread in Melbourne, I discovered the benefits of massage a few years back while working the 9-5 office job. The impact that massage had on me physically and mentally changed my life, and led me to jump in and learn this amazing craft, so that I could share it’s benefits with others.

I have since graduated from the Australian College of Massage and gained experience working in deep tissue, relaxation, and aromatherapy massage through my own mobile massage business. For me, massage has several rewards. It gives me the chance to connect with people to help in the healing process, and it gives me enjoyment seeing the immediate satisfaction that massage can bring.

I’ve been living in Manchester for 6 months now, and being a part of Dr. Dot’s team gives me the chance to combine massage with my other passion – music. Having played in a band for 9 years, I know the stress that constant touring and performing can have on a person, both physically and mentally. It’s this awareness that I bring to my role on Dr Dot’s team. Whether it’s a pre-show loosen up, or a post-show wind down, my healing hands are here to help. I therefore consider myself a fortunate member of the team, as I know what it’s like to be in your shoes!

But I’m not restricted to massaging backstage at gigs. I also do call outs to hotels, homes and other events. Name the place and I’ll be there.

My name is Candace. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Louisiana, working in the Baton Rouge area.  I am very delighted and excited to be a part of the Dr. Dot team.
 
My massage is defined as deep tissue with a twist. I allow the muscle tissue to lead and guide me when and where to do a special technique. Each and every massage is customized to the client. I don't believe in a "cookie cutter" session. Every "body" is intitled to it's own recipe.

Hi my name is Lauren, and I am looking forward to being part of Dr.Dot's team in and around the Manchester area!
 
I originally started off as a nursery nurse and found my love for massage when I attended a night school course for full body massage therapy.  I realised this is what I wanted to do and I find it very rewarding when my clients have enjoyed their treatments and feel relaxed.
I wanted to expand my knowledge and skills and so I went on to do a Bachelor of science degree in Complimentary therapies at University in the city of Manchester.
 
Since passing my degree I have worked as a Complimentary therapist for a local salon, I also do mobile treatments which my clients have told me they thoroughly enjoy, as they can relax in their own home after one of my treatments, I take pride in my work and treat everyone of my clients as an individual.
 
My skills include – Reflexology – Indian Head Massage – Aromatherapy – Full Body Massage – Crystal healing – Ice Facial – Hopi ear candles – Thai foot massage – Manicure – Pedicure – Threading.
 
And I would still like to expand on these!

I work since 2003 in different Hotels and Studios as an professional massager. Before I’ve became a massage therapist, I owned six years ago a music bar in my hometown. Hello, my name is Annette and I live in Hamburg since 1989.

In the nineties I went to university to become a teacher. In this time I worked in different venues as a security or at the cash-desk and went on tour being the merchandiser. I really enjoyed these jobs because I always loved music! But I had to stop this after my daughter was born in '95.

In 1999 I started an education in alternative medicine (in german: Heilpraktikerin) and specialised myself in homeopathy and massage. When I give massages I use deep tissue massage, medical massage, triggerpoints, Shiatsu, Acupressure or a mixture of all to achieve the best individual results in accordance with the needs of my clients. I always do my best and follow the, even nonverbal, communication between my hands and the person on my massage table. So every treatment is different from strong and deep to soft and relaxing or something in between.

For two years I worked in a clinic for Osthopathy, Chiropractics and medical massage where I gave strong massages the whole day long with no chance to get tired – it is just a question of technique!

In may 2009 I set up my own little clinic for homeopathy and massage in Hamburg St.Pauli and later a friend told me about the Dr. Dot team. So now I am very happy to be part of this team because for me it is the perfect way to be back into the "music-world" with doing what I really enjoy.

I feel so fortunate to be able to touch people's lives in a positive way through massage therapy. I truly believe in the healing benefits of massage!

I wasn't always a therapist, however. In my former career, I was a middle school teacher! (I definitely have a first hand understanding of the pain and muscle tension that accompany job related stress!). I am very proud of the time that I spent in the classroom, guiding and motivating students down the right path.

Now, as a massage therapist, I have the opportunity to help educate my clients on their journey toward greater health! I strive to encourage balance in each of my client's lives by providing massage therapy that not only decreases pain and muscle tension, but results in relaxation and greater emotional balance.

My name is Heather. I am a recent graduate of the Lakeside school of Massage Therapy in Madison, WI. I also studied with the East West Healing Arts Institute to add some additional eastern modalities to my massage technique. I was born and raised in Wisconsin, but have also spent quite a bit of time outside of my home state. Growing up I spent my summers in Mexico with my grandparents.

My eventual migration to massage therapy started with an interest in anatomy. I spent several years in school trying to decide between psychology and physiology, eventually settling with the latter. After several years working with various demographics in a caretaker capacity I found that, while I was still very interested in the body itself, that particular line of work was not for me. I decided to follow a path that involved healing touch and more non traditional treatment options and have found myself very happy with that choice.

I am very excited to have joined Dr. Dot's team and have always had a great love of, if not talent with, music. When I am not working as a Massage Therapist I am also employed as a karaoke DJ for a local establishment on a weekly basis. I look forward to working with the variety of people that book with Dr. Dot and getting to combine two of my favorite things, massage and music, in the process!

I am Jennifer and I've been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 8  years. I received my education at Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy in Jacksonville, Florida. I am also nationally certified. I specialize in Neuromuscular massage, and also have training in Swedish Massage, Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques, Zero Balancing, and Sports Massage. My massage tends to combine the best of all the techniques I've learned for the benefit of my clients. "Let me be surrounded by luxury, I can do without the necessities" – said Oscar Wilde and I love that quote. Getting a massage is a luxury, no one should live without. As I learned several techniques from Shiatsu, Thai-elements, Reiki, Ayurveda up to foot massage, body release and lymph drainage, I work individually, depending on what clients need at that moment.

In my opinion, Dr. Dot represents a true, authentic personality doing the job in a very professional way with passion, fun and respect. I think, that is, what it's all about. I can absolutely identify working and living like this.
