Hi! My name is Alicia, and I am proud to be part of Dr. Dot’s team in Austin, TX; “The Live Music Capitol of The World”!
I was born and raised in Houston, TX. I came to Austin in 2002 to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where I got a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art.
I have always had a passion for natural healing and helping others, which is what drove me to attain a license in massage therapy. I hold a Texas license as well as a national license. I feel that I have a natural talent for it and I learn something new every day!
My specialties include: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Reflexology, Trigger Point and Sports Massage.
Email me at info@drdot.com and put "Alicia/Austin" in the subject line and it will reach me right away.
I look forward to working with you,
Alicia
Last night at around 10 minutes past midnight (it had just turned Dec 8th), I drove to 72nd street, corner of Central Park west to the Dakota building. There was NO ONE around, not even a guard. I sat in my car blasting Hide your love away, feeling eeire- thinking this is the same spot John Lennon was shot in 1980. Imagining that horrible scene gives you a nasty chill, especially when you are at the scene of the crime. Then an overwhelming feeling of sadness comes over you. Hard to describe, you just have to visit the place to FEEL what I mean.
Every year on Dec 8th Beatles fans gather in Strawberry Fields to sing Beatles and John Lennon songs. I got there around 7 pm at night, it was naturally dark and FREEZING BEYOND belief (20 degrees fahrenheit/-1 celcius) AND it was windy as FOOK.
The bitter weather didn't stop the vigil. Every one sings along to the 5 or 6 guitarist who were in the middle of the circle they formed around the Imagine mosaic. I went alone, didn't know anyone there- and just sang along with everyone, as you do. It felt SO NICE to be around other Beatle fans. SO FUCKING AWESOME.
It was extremely difficult to get a picture or get anywhere close to the middle.. so many swarmed around it.. I had to stand on tippie-toes and take these pictures (not a place to get even slightly pushy so you just wait and try)
Not sure how long the guitarists were all there, but I could only take an hour of the brutal cold. My toes were frozen solid and I had a hard time walking back to my car as my toes would not bend anymore; I looked like marching soldier the way I was walking, lol, trying to avoid bending icy toes out of fear they would have snapped in two lol. Only hardcore Beatles freaks were there, you could tell. Everyone knew every word to every song and people were even making the electric guitar notes in 'Something'
When I left they were in the middle of 'Let it be'. No sign of Yoko this year. She did come out to the vigil in 2005 though.
After the vigil I went to an amazing wine bar and met some wonderful new friends. You just never know who you will meet in this city. Then I met up with Jonesy and we went and did some karaoke. I sang "Helter Skelter" as my Beatles tune for the night. I wore a Beatles shirt too to show love. John Lennon; gone but never, ever forgotten. Mark David Chapman – may you rot in hell.
Hi there! I’m Sherry, CMT, N.C.T.M.B and I currently reside behind the orange curtain in Orange County, California. Since 1996, I have performed therapeutic massage in different locales; day spas, medical wellness centers, chiropractic offices, private homes, & businesses, and I seem to be able to blend in and perform effective massage therapy wherever I’m needed. This is why I’ve decided to embark within this new venue Dr. Dot has so masterfully created.
My love for the human body began when attending UCI as a pre-med major. I had to move on and work full-time so I held a corporate position for 14 years. During that time, I found myself offering shoulder rubs to friends and family just because they were so stressed out as my personality reaches out to help others feel better. A friend asked if I had ever thought about going to school for massage because I seemed to really make a difference in her muscles and attitude. Back then, I didn’t even know massage therapy schools existed. I later found myself attending California College of Physical Arts in Huntington Beach and began working with a 125 hours under my belt on the weekends for a local chiropractor. After attending night school to finish my AA degree, I found myself wanting to learn more not only to take care of friends and family, but wanted to branch and touch more lives. I needed to continue my education in massage to offer additional modalities to patients and eventually personal clients. In 2003, I was out-sourced from my full-time corporate position, went back to school to complete my 500 hour certificate program, and recently became a Nationally Certified Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworker. I am primarily skilled in Contemporary Western techniques which include:
* Deep Tissue Massage
* Lymphatic Drainage
* Pre-Natal Massage
* Classic Swedish Massage
* Sports Massage
* Foot Reflexology
* Psoas Release Techniques
* Hot Stone Massage
* Cupping Therapy
* Ear Candling
* Myofascial Release
* Trigger Point Therapy
Music has also been a part of my life through many trials and tribulations. My high school sweetheart and now husband introduced me to Ratt and Led Zeppelin while I was a total valley girl listening to Madonna and Depeche Mode. Even though growing up, my family didn’t share their music loves, surprisingly, I enjoy all kinds!
Throughout the many years of being in the massage industry, I continue to take great pride in offering quality massages and look forward to helping you feel well and balanced. Look me up next time you are in or heading to the OC! Email me: info@drdot.com and put "Sherry/Oc" in the subject line
Cheers,
Sherry

Coldplay, no strangers to plagiarism accusations, are now being sued by guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, as the guitarist is accusing the band of ripping off his 2004 track “If I Could Fly” for their own Grammy-nominated hit “Viva La Vida.” Satriani filed a copyright infringement suit against the band in Los Angeles yesterday, accusing Coldplay of stealing “substantial original portions.” The Satch is seeking a jury trial, damages and “any and all profits attributable to the alleged copyright infringement.” And considering the album and the single were among the biggest sellers this year, not to mention the centerpiece of an Apple iTunes campaign, Satriani stands to make a sizable profit if the jury agrees with him. However, Satriani’s lawyers will have to prove Coldplay somehow heard “If I Could Fly,” which may be a difficult task. That being said, the hook to “Viva” is almost exactly the same as the guitar lick in “If I Could Fly,” as evidenced by the 50-second mark in the video below. Coldplay’s management has not yet commented on the case.
Pfffft!! Joe is the MAN!!
Dr. Dorothy…….
Is originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia, majoring in Mathematics and Biochemistry. She is also a graduate of Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, which is located in Toronto, Canada, where she currently resides.
Dr. Dorothy developed a fascination with Chiropractic from an early age. Having been a competitive child athlete, she suffered many injuries. After many years of unrelenting back pain and overall discomfort, she sought Chiropractic care, which, in many ways, has dramatically changed her life. Not only was she able to manage the pain from years of repetitive overuse, but she also gained an appreciation for the body’s ability to heal, and insight into the power of prevention.
In her spare time, Dr. Dorothy enjoys playing sports and music. Her experience both as an athlete, and also as a trainer for sports teams, has led her to additional certification in special soft tissue techniques such as Active Release Technique ® and Graston Technique ®. These techniques help to break down scar tissue and adhesions that develop on injured or overused muscles, which many athletes and musicians develop after many years of practice and performance.
Dr. Dorothy is grateful to be a health care professional that appreciates individuality and promotes not only a healthy body, but also a sound mind, and a warm and happy spirit.
If you want an adjustment from her, email her: info@drdot.com and put "Dr. Dorothy/Toronto" in the subject line please

Hi I am Ali,
I am a licensed massage therapist in Tampa, Florida. My specialty is deep tissue and neuromuscular bodywork. I absolutely love to work out deep tissues which is … deep rooted issues! I have firm pressure and can go deep in a session. Not only are my thumbs strong so is my intention. My ability to focus into a client’s energy field allows their tissues to release either energetically or emotionally. We are such complicated beings and I have natural healing abilities that bring forth miraculous changes.
I have had clients literally in tears saying, “thank you”, for their bodywork sessions. For someone to be healed from chronic pain, chronic migraines, muscle spasms is life changing and affirming to my work!
I am continuing my education and training in Structural Energetic Therapy (SET). I am also certified in Reiki (Level 1). Reiki is a natural healing system that allows the body to heal itself as well as balancing the body’s chakras (energy centers).
My experience in the past prior to massage is sales. I am a entrepreneur at heart. Originally from the Midwest (Chicago land area) I have traveled to many college campuses, spring break events and concert venues selling or promoting T-Shirts or credit cards! Sales on the road in the cold winter months is what lead me to relocate to Florida. I started a career in apartment leasing and management. This position gave me exposure to sports celebrities that lived here in Tampa Bay. Since then I have been on a spiritual path and have been guided to massage therapy.
My path crossed with Dr. Dot here in St. Petersburg. I happened to find her site and ad online and she happened to be here in Florida on vacation. How great for me! To meet in person the globe trotting Dr. Dot. Dot to me is a vibrant, tenacious, kind and giving spirit. I feel honored to be part of her team.
Much Affinity!
