Hello Everyone,

My name is Nela. I live in the San Francisco area and have been a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant since 2014. I fell in love with the manual therapy (hands-on work) of PT and then decided to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. I have always been asked what my style of massage is, because people have wondered how they can receive a similar massage as my technique is unique.
I would consider my approach to be focused more on helping to resolve a specific issue. I combine a variety of techniques including Deep tissue, Swedish, Sports Massage, Neuromuscular Re-education, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, and some client education (ergonomic advice, stretching techniques, how to use a foam roller, etc.) to help alleviate pain and keep you feeling better longer in the most relaxing way possible. I would say I specialize in people living with chronic pain issues. Since becoming a Massage therapist I really pride myself in tailoring each session to fit your needs and complete my ultimate goal of making every session help YOU feel restored, reset, and rejuvenated!

Aloha! My name is Leia (like “Princess Leia” from Star Wars).
 
 I fell in love with massage therapy at the tender age of 15, when I volunteered to massage for the IronMan World Triathlon in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. After 6 hours of massaging tri-athletes from around the world, I got a crash course in what it takes. It was a very gratifying experience.

 I am trained in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Sports, and Pregnancy massage modalities. I work closely along chiropractors, professional athletes, and rehab patients on a daily basis. I am strong and have a passion to heal. Originally from Hawaii, I bring the Aloha Spirit and pass it on to you.

Active as an International Pin-Up Model & Burlesque Performer, Leia is the sister of a professional heavy metal drummer, the sister of a professional hula dancer and beauty queen, and the daughter of a rockin’ helicopter pilot sprung from the Vietnam War. I, myself, have a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre and have been singing since the age of 10.

Hello my name is Katy and I am a licensed massage therapist living in SC. I am originally from San Diego, but I grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. I became a massage therapist in 2005 because I have always been interested in how I can best help those around me, and I also wanted a career that I could travel with and meet interesting people. I currently have my Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I find the combination of Eastern and Western philosophy to be extremely beneficial in the treatment of most clients. I am proficient in Swedish, deep tissue, craniosacral therapy, reflexology, trigger point therapy, and tui-na.
​Having grown up in an artsy Southern town, music has played an extremely important role in my life. I enjoy everything from bluegrass to metal and am always interested to hear new bands that I have not been exposed to. I am very athletic and surf competitively around the country. Surfing has given me very strong hands as well as an acute understanding of pain throughout the body. I have been told that I have a very special and aware touch. Massage therapy has given me the opportunity to make a living doing what I love and to learn first hand while I further my education in an accompanying field.

Born and raised in Osceola County, I am a true Floridian.  I love the beach, riding motorcycles, and being outdoors.  I’ve been married for 13 years with two amazing kids, a dog, and a bearded dragon.  In 2008, after almost 10 years as a veterinary technician taking care of animals, I decided to take my passion of care for animals and expand it to people.  In 2009, I graduated from the Academy of Career Training with top grades.  After passing the state boards and receiving my license, I continued my education.  On May 30, 2014, after 15 years of working with animals, I took the next step and decided to pursue Massage Therapy as a full-time career. I still continue my work with animals through local rescue groups helping with events and transport as needed.  

I am a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner with additional training in Cupping Therapy, Hot Stone, Deep Tissue, and Therapeutic Modalities.  I believe your care shouldn’t end when you leave the massage table.  I also work with clients to achieve their goals for health and well-being including researching treatments and exercises that may be beneficial.

Hello my name is Astrid and I guess with my height of 6ft 4in, I am one of the tallest female massage therapist on this planet! My practice began intuitively in 1993 as a college student in New Orleans where I worked at a salon and developed a head, neck and shoulders technique that quickly gained popular attention. I began my formal training in MassageTherapy in 1996. I chose to begin my studies in Zen Shiatsu because it was the most organic of the treatments. After 720 hours of training at The Boston Shiatsu School, I continued my studies at the renowned Muscular Therapy Institute. This 900-hour program gave me an in depth look at anatomy and physiology and their relationship to our muscular system. By studying this system I learned how to treat the areas that hold stress and tension. By learning the patterns of the body I could unlock muscular tension by treating the whole muscle; not just the belly of the muscle, but the attachments, as well. I have a total of 1800 hours of training in massage therapy techniques. I am licensed in Massachusetts, Arizona and Hawaii, and I am nationally certified in Massage and Bodywork.

The next level of my training came through my actual practice. I realized that, just as in life, it is not about one or the other, but about complementary therapies. I combined Eastern Philosophy with Western Muscular Therapy and unified them through my hands. My sessions flow between one therapy and the other seamlessly. My goal is to achieve “oneness” during each session. My thoughts are completely focused on my clients’ needs. My clients tell me what their complaints are, and I open myself to listen through my hands.
This leads to intuitive impressions that I can share with my clients either during or after the session. There are two types of clients that I love. One is someone who has never had a massage before and the other is someone who has had lots of massages before. For the client who has never had a massage before, I want to perform at my best level, so they understand how powerful massage can be. For the client who has lots of massages, I want them to experience something unique.

Since 2001, I have been treating professional dancers with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Other clients have included professional athletes and other A-list celebrities. The culmination of my 21 years of experience has led me to this opportunity, and I am honored to be a member of Dr. Dot’s team.
