I have always been fascinated by healing the human body. Originally, I was looking to pursue a career in Traditional Chinese Medicine, but a friend suggested that I consider becoming a chiropractor. While very different than Chinese Medicine, I appreciated that it was also a natural healing method, and decided to take his recommendation. I graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 2007 and have been licensed in the state of Massachusetts for 15 years. I specialize in sports injuries and women’s health. I am an Active Release Technique certified practitioner, which has developed extensive protocols for various conditions. My practice is located in Boston where I work with Dr. Brad, also a DotBot!

So now that you know about me professionally, here is a little personal tidbit that ties into my work. I am a fourth-generation string musician, having played the violin, viola, and bass guitar. I do truly believe that being a string musician helped me develop the sensation in my hands that is able to detect the subtle intricacies that are present in the human body. So combining my love for music and my profession is a dream come true! And that’s where Dr. Dot comes in! I am very excited to now be on the team! Whether you’re a celebrity or not, you will always get VIP treatment when you’re on my table!

My practice began intuitively in 1993 as a college student in New Orleans where I worked at a salon and developed a head, neck and shoulders technique that quickly gained popular attention. I began my formal training in MassageTherapy in 1996. I chose to begin my studies in Zen Shiatsu because it was the most organic of the treatments. After 720 hours of training at The Boston Shiatsu School, I continued my studies at the renowned Muscular Therapy Institute. This 900-hour program gave me an in depth look at anatomy and physiology and their relationship to our muscular system. By studying this system I learned how to treat the areas that hold stress and tension. By learning the patterns of the body I could unlock muscular tension by treating the whole muscle; not just the belly of the muscle, but the attachments, as well. I have a total of 1800 hours of training in massage therapy techniques. I am licensed in Massachusetts, Arizona and Hawaii, and I am nationally certified in Massage and Bodywork.

The next level of my training came through my actual practice. I realized that, just as in life, it is not about one or the other, but about complementary therapies. I combined Eastern Philosophy with Western Muscular Therapy and unified them through my hands. My sessions flow between one therapy and the other seamlessly. My goal is to achieve “oneness” during each session. My thoughts are completely focused on my clients’ needs. My clients tell me what their complaints are, and I open myself to listen through my hands.
This leads to intuitive impressions that I can share with my clients either during or after the session. There are two types of clients that I love. One is someone who has never had a massage before and the other is someone who has had lots of massages before. For the client who has never had a massage before, I want to perform at my best level, so they understand how powerful massage can be. For the client who has lots of massages, I want them to experience something unique.

Since 2001, I have been treating professional dancers with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Other clients have included professional athletes and other A-list celebrities. The culmination of my 21 years of experience has led me to this opportunity, and I am honored to be a member of Dr. Dot’s team.

Ever since idolizing my childhood pediatrician, I always envisioned himself as a doctor helping others feel better. I was first introduced to chiropractic healthcare at age eight. As an active kid and athlete I used chiropractic care growing up to stay healthy and recover quickly from injuries.

Now I have been in practice for over 23 years. The time has gone by fast because I love what I do. I have had the pleasure of helping thousands of people get out of pain so they can enjoy life again. People still seek chiropractic care for pain relief. The real benefit of chiropractic care is that it optimizes your bodies function so that you can BE healthy. Regular wellness chiropractic care can keep you out of pain and keep you performing at your maximum potential.

I’ve had the unique opportunity to learn from some of the best manipulators that have ever lived. I am also certified in Active Release Techniques® (ART), one of the most sought after soft tissue techniques. It is patented and I have my Master’s Certification. Using both manipulation and ART® my chiropractic treatments address issues in both the joints and soft tissue of the body.

You tune your instruments. Consider chiropractic care as a tune-up for your body.

I have treated some of the top names in the entertainment world, but once on my chiropractic table, everyone get ‘star’ treatment.

Hi!  I'm Michelle and I'm from the Boston area.  I graduated from the Therapeutic Massage Program at Bristol Community College.  I had great teachers who helped to cultivate my natural talent of touch into something greater.  I'm proficient in both Swedish and deep tissue. I'm also certified in both chair and prental massage as well as ear candling.  I believe there is always more to learn so I continue to advance my skills and knowledge with continuing education classes.  I love knowing that something as simple as a touch can make another human being feel better and more relaxed.  I also volunteer every year for the PANMass Challenge, a bike riding fundraiser.  It's a fun event for a great cause with awesome participants and I feel honored being a part of it.
