Baltimore statue will honor Frank Zappa

Baltimore statue will honor Frank Zappa A bust of legendary musician and Baltimore native Frank Zappa will officially be dedicated Sept. 18, The Baltimore Sun reports. Members of Zappa's family are expected to attend the ceremony, which will take place at Eastern Avenue and South Conkling Street in Highlandtown, where the bust will be erected.

The location outside the Southeast Anchor Library was chosen in part because Zappa was a staunch advocate for free speech. The bust, which will sit atop a tall column, is a gift to the city from a Zappa fan club in Lithuania, and is being readied for shipment to the United States.

Fuck iTunes for spoiling it for Survivor viewers AGAIN

I KNOW it is really unimportant but I watch Survivor. Have done for years. I fucking HATE it when people post information about the show on my facebook page like who was voted off, or most importantly WHO WON because it fucking spoils it for those of us who watch it on iTunes.

iTunes is so fucking ignorant when it comes to series. They ALWAYS post the last two episodes of 99% of their series in the wrong order, SO before you get to see who won, they post the REUNION show exposing who the winner was before you even saw the last episode. Read the angry reviews on iTunes (if you give a fuck) and see the outrage. Again, I do realize how incredibly unimportant this is compared to bigger problems in life a the moment, but this is my blog and if I want to vent, I vent. I PAY for whole seasons of Survivor, I don't watch it for free on TV like most folks so you would think iTunes would get their shit together, but NO!!!!! This is the 3rd time they showed the reunion show before ending just on Survivor (they have done it loads on other contest shows too). FUCKING IDIOTS and to make it worse Facebook "Friends" on my fan page always rant and rave about who was voted off, who won etc before I get a chance to watch it, super pissed off, having a HISSY FUCKING FIT!!!!!!

Still flat hunting

Been too frustrated to blog lately. Early April I paid Hothem Enterprises a whole YEARS rent up front to move into a tiny one bedroom in Jersey City Heights (Ogden ave). I gave Hugh a $13,000 check as I don't have any credit yet in the USA since I've been living in Germany so many years AND I THOUGHT I was using a credit card since 2002 but it turns out it is just a DEBIT card and this doesn't build credit! UGH!! So much for being the type that pays for everything straight away- that behavior does NOT get rewarded in the USA. They WANT you to owe. To build credit. STRANGE.

Anyways to get a flat here, you have to have good credit. I have none, so I made a bold move and paid a years rent up front. He promised me verbally and in writing the tenant would be out by May 1st (she was SUPPOSED to be out April 1st but did NOT want to budge). He sad I could move in May 1st and in our contract (was there two fucking hours listening to his bullshit about how he is Amish and takes things slow, that I talk too fast, that he wonders WHAT kind of massage business I own (told him to look up my web site, he says "Amish people don't DO internet").. in our contract it listed how the place would be painted, needed repairs would be made, yadda yadda yadda. He cashed check NEXT day according to my online bank account yet weeks went by and I heard nothing.

Late April rolls round and still no word. I walked by the flat to peek in window from a distance, to see if lights were on etc. The bitch was having a party, posters still on wall, etc. Did NOT look like sh was moving any time soon (it was April 27th I was checking things out). So I called Hugh and naturally the fucking voice mail picks up. I called the "Emergency" number (his cell- oh, the Amish can use cell phones but no internet?- wanker!) he talks to me in the most irritating, condescending tone I've ever heard in my life. "Dorothy, I told you it would be ready May 1st, no need to call" etc. He went on and on making me feel like an asshole for even doubting the situation (HOW would they get the messy, sloppy, smelly tenant (flat was a mess when it was showed to me and smelt to high heaven of fuming cat shit/piss) out by end of month and renovate in time for me to move in May 1st?? IMPOSSIBLE!.

Check out the online reviews I found about Hothem Enterprises (sadly AFTER I had all the problems with them!) Read HERE too.

Letter I wrote to building owner's Son:

Hello Craig

I have attached pictures I took last night upon receiving my keys for my new apartment. I am not sure if your father told you but I paid $13,000 (a whole year's rent and deposit) already (they check was cashed weeks ago).

I was told by your father the place would be painted, cleaned etc and ready for me by May 1st. I was saddened by what I saw (and smelt) last night when I finally got through the door (key is STUCK in the lock by the way- Mary Jane and I tried our best to get it out, to no avail).

Problems with new flat:

Front door into lobby does not lock  (ANYONE can come through both doors, without a key- which is not ok with me as I crave safety).

Smells like cat poop from former tenant (not fresh paint as I expected)
Bath tub faucet is dripping, doesn't shut off no matter what.
Seal around tub needs to be re-done (who ever did this, did it with one finger in a couple of minutes!)
Needs new toilet seat (disgusting)
Kitchen counter is falling apart (see attached picture)
Stove top is SUPER hot (what's up?)
Power outlet on kitchen wall very old and looks like a fire hazard to me
Paint flaking off everywhere  around kitchen floor base is not okay! (see attached picture)
Living room screens are torn and broken and ancient…need new ones (in fact they ALL look 100 years old and I can not freely open or close them)-
All windows need new screens
Bedroom electrical socket looks like it is ready to fall off needs to be replaced
Bedroom closet door knob is falling off

Door stop in bathroom is falling off

Electrical socket in living room also dangerous
Heater in bathroom is falling apart and broken (and FILTHY!!) see pix below..
Window sill in bathroom not even painted needs to be painted and needs new screen in bathroom

In short, I am sure it was difficult to renovate in two days, but it surely is not my fault the apartment is not ready for me as planned. The old tenant obviously over stayed her dead line, causing the rush in preparing my apartment."

See pictures below:

This is what they call a renovated apartment!

Looks like it is 100 years old. FIRE hazard much??

Bathroom was DISGUSTING

Nice holes in the screens. So bugs can just come right on in to hang out ^

 "Freshly Painted" my ASS! ^

The look looks nice and safe eh? Craig told me the "can't do anything about that"

Does this look freshly painted to you? (Bathroom window sill) THEY ALL looked like this. Fucking liars. They did NOT paint, clean, nada. ONLY positive thing about this whole mess, is they actually gave me my refund (they had no choice, I would have sued them in a New York minute).

So you see, blogging now would just be about me venting and I don't want to burden you with this crap. Bad enough I have to deal with it. Pfft! I need my own space SOON or I am gonna snap.

Great Massage in St. Paul, Minnesota!

Contact me: info@drdot.com and put "Patch/MINN" in subject line, thanks πŸ™‚

Hello! I'm Patch, and I have been practicing massage in Minnesota since 2004.

Before graduating from the Saint Paul College Massage Therapy Program and embarking on what has become a therapeutic bodywork adventure, I viewed massage as many people might – a purely physical experience and a once-a-year luxury. I did not seriously consider any effects other than physical ones, and figured it couldn't be that difficult to give good massages, especially since people had already told me that I had a knack for it. Years and some important lessons later, my experience in the field has changed my perception of massage entirely.

Now, I strongly believe that people can highly benefit from healing touch on a regular basis, and that the intention behind that touch is more important than just excellent technique. I also believe that the effects of massage go beyond physical sensations. When our bodies are massaged and physical change occurs, our thoughts and emotions are also activated – how the body feels affects the mind, and how the mind feels affects the body; therefore, open communication is also vital to a successful treatment. Because of these beliefs, I have begun to make it my goal to not only help people feel better physically, but also more positive mentally after they get a massage from me, with the intention that these changes become part of a new pattern that will decrease pain and discomfort over the long run. As there is always more to know in life, I am continually learning and trying to improve upon my abilities to positively influence people's lives through touch, and I believe that this has put me on a good path.

Whether or not you decide to book me today for a massage incorporating any of deep tissue, myofascial relaxation, Swedish, trigger point, and sports techniques, I hope that you choose to receive therapeutic massages on a regular basis – after all, how many things in life feel good and are good for you? =)

Thanks for reading!
Cheers!

Best Massage in Redlands, California

Email me at info@drdot.com and put "Caitlin/LA" in subject line please πŸ™‚

Hi, I'm Caitlin! I grew up in Southern California in a small town, but I actually love big cities, traveling, and crowds. For the past five years, I lived in the Bay area. I attended UC Berkeley and got my BA in Religious Philosophy. I also minored in Dance and in Creative Writing! I know that sounds like a lot, but I'm really passionate about all of those things so it was fun and interesting.

After I graduated from university, I became disheartened by the lack of opportunity during the recession, so I did some deep soul searching, explored all my options, and decided to go to massage school. I love helping people, I'm very passionate about health and well being, I have a unique understanding of the body as a dancer, and I enjoy the grounded presence massage requires of the practitioner. Best of all, I get to move around (rather than sit at a desk) and interact with people from all walks of life!

I studied massage at the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville. I focused on a variety of modalities, including: Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Swedish, Shiatsu, Thai, Accupressure, and Energy Work. I incorporate all of these modalities into all of my massages because I tailor each session to your particular body and what you hope to gain from the massage. No massage is ever the same because no two bodies are the same! I graduated with honors and a letter of excellence for maintaining a perfect 4.0 for the entire program. I'm also both State and Nationally certified, so you can rest assured I am a cut above the rest along with all the other Dot Bots πŸ™‚ It is such an honor to work with such an amazing team!

Since graduating I have maintained a small private practice, worked for a Sports Rehab center, and worked in a variety of independent contractor positions. I recently returned to Southern California, where I continue to learn and grow as a massage therapist, and I look forward to being your Dot Bot in the Inland Empire!

Travel, spontaneity, and music are my idea of heaven on earth, so I am also available and excited to tour with you!
