I AM AN INTUITIVE FEMALE HOLISTIC BODYWORKER/EMPATH/MASSAGE THERAPIST. I AM A HOLISTIC HEALER/WELLNESS PRACTITIONER, USING MY SENSE OF TOUCH AS A TOOL FOR HEALING. MASSAGE THERAPY TO ME IS A HEALING ART~FORM; IT IS MEDICINE FOR THE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT. LIKE MUSIC, WHEN DONE PASSIONATELY AND FROM THE HEART, IT CAN TRULY GO BEYOND PAIN RELIEF, IT CAN ALSO RE-BALANCE, REVITALIZE AND HEAL ONE FROM OUTSIDE AND WITHIN. NEVER FORGETTING THE TRINITY OF BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT~~~
FIRST HAND, I AM A STUDENT OF LIFE, APPRENTICING UNDER MY FATHER. HE PRACTICED BODYWORK, PHYSICAL THERAPY FOR MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS AND STARTED ONE OF THE FIRST MASSAGE THERAPY PRACTICES IN THE STATE OF MINNESOTA. THEN, I WENT TO SCHOOL AT ST. PAUL TECHNICAL COLLEGE TO TEST OUT AND RECEIVE THE CERTIFICATION I NEEDED TO OFFICIALLY PRACTICE MASSAGE THERAPY MYSELF. MY FAVORITE MODALITIES ARE RELAXATION, SWEDISH, INTEGRATIVE, SPORTS AND THERAPEUTIC BODYWORK. AS FOR MYSELF, THIS IS MUCH MORE THAN A CAREER, IT IS A WAY OF LIFE!

I have practiced massage for over 10 years and continue to learn and evolve my treatment methodology.  I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Psychology and Studio Arts(1998), and left feeling that balanced health consisted of more than talk therapy.  I continued my studies at the Aveda Institute(2001) in massage therapy, went on to intern with an Ayurvedic physician(2001), and followed that by intensive training at the Yoga Center(2007) for 2 levels of Thai massage. Most recently I went to Thailand to learn reflexology(2008) at the Old Medicine Hospital in Chiang Mai, and this past fall completed a certificate program at the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine(2012) in TuiNa, or Chinese Medical Massage.

I practice a blend of the modalities that I know, and am able to treat patients, seated, laying down, clothed, or unclothed. I utilize massage as a relaxation method and to treat specific conditions such as depression, migraines, menstrual irregularities, fatigue, and chronic joint pain, as well as digestive issues, in addition to smoothing and declunking troublesome muscle groups.  Massage allows the body to engage in healing itself through unblocking energetic pathways and stimulating organ systems to increase or decrease their activity.

Traditionally, Thai massage is done in loose clothing on a mat on the floor, it stretches the body and works through the energy meridians of the body in order to create balance throughout. TuiNa targets aches and pains and specific medical conditions though a deep systematic terrain, and is based in Traditional Chinese Medical Theory, best known for acupuncture here in the west. Swedish and Esalan massage modalities are deeply relaxing, and productive in allowing a freer flow of energy throughout the body with the use of oil and long flowing strokes and moving pressure.

In addition to my wonder and practice with the body/mind/spirit,  I am also a painter and muralist. I love to read about theology, mysticism, and philosophy and to form a greater understanding of our place in this world through people.

Hello, my name is Racheal! Providing ancient healing arts for the artist.

Music has been my life from a young age and has shaped almost every part of my lifestyle throughout the years. Home away from home for the last almost 10 years has been the legendary First Avenue and 7th Street Entry, where I bartend, soak in music, massage and even perform. You can hear and see me taking the stage with my own band as well as any karaoke bar within reach. Combining my love of music with my passion for the healing arts is a necessary step in my career and it would be an honor and privilege to share my work with you.

My amazing education at Centerpoint School of Massage and Shiatsu focused on the intensive East/West program, which includes swedish, therapeutic, trigger point therapy, shiatsu techniques, cupping and Traditional Chinese Medicine. My knowledge and interest has expanded to include Thai massage, lymph drainage, pregnancy, hot stone, aromatherapy and body treatments. I integrate these healing therapies, working with clients to develop a personalized treatment based on their needs. I believe treatments can and should include rehabilitation combined with energetic meridian work for a deeply therapeutic experience.

Working as a massage therapist within a spa and chiropractic environment have fine tuned my practice and along with over 15 years in customer service, I am prepared for pretty much anything. Previous on location and band experience has included talent and their crew on a local Minneapolis level as well as national acts. My ability and willingness to adapt to any travel circumstance is a definite must in this line of work. I believe my professional, dependable rock lifestyle, strong work ethic and positive attitude will mesh well with any situation.

My life already includes working closely with musical and creative individuals, expanding that to a new level is definitely a part of my vision. Thank you for your time and I look forward to working with you!

Kate in Minnesota

I was born in Wyoming but my home is Minnesota. I’ve lived all over the state and my passion is to restore the balance between wilderness and civilization. There is nothing I enjoy more than helping people feel better; helping them to make the connection with their bodies and their environment.

I studied over 600 hours at Lake Superior College in Duluth, MN. I graduated as a certified massage therapist and I specialize in Deep Tissue, Swedish, and Lymph Drainage modalities. This past year I lived in Hawaii and focused on the art of massage and implementing Hawaiian Lomi Lomi. In addition to massage therapy, I have degrees in business, land management and in wilderness and civilization management. When I finish school I will have a BA in Anthropology and a PhD in Ethnobotany (ethno meaning people, botany being plants). Massage therapy is my first step towards a better understanding of Eastern Medicine. Traditional Eastern Medicine is the concept of balance, and the balance of everything in the universe.

I discovered Dr. Dot online and found her opportunities appealing. Working with Dr. Dot I hope to provide you with a positive mind, body, and spirit experience.  I’m currently available in Minnesota and look forward to prospective clients.

Hello! I'm Patch, and I have been practicing massage in Minnesota since 2004.

Before graduating from the Saint Paul College Massage Therapy Program and embarking on what has become a therapeutic bodywork adventure, I viewed massage as many people might – a purely physical experience and a once-a-year luxury. I did not seriously consider any effects other than physical ones, and figured it couldn't be that difficult to give good massages, especially since people had already told me that I had a knack for it. Years and some important lessons later, my experience in the field has changed my perception of massage entirely.

Now, I strongly believe that people can highly benefit from healing touch on a regular basis, and that the intention behind that touch is more important than just excellent technique. I also believe that the effects of massage go beyond physical sensations. When our bodies are massaged and physical change occurs, our thoughts and emotions are also activated – how the body feels affects the mind, and how the mind feels affects the body; therefore, open communication is also vital to a successful treatment. Because of these beliefs, I have begun to make it my goal to not only help people feel better physically, but also more positive mentally after they get a massage from me, with the intention that these changes become part of a new pattern that will decrease pain and discomfort over the long run. As there is always more to know in life, I am continually learning and trying to improve upon my abilities to positively influence people's lives through touch, and I believe that this has put me on a good path.

Whether or not you decide to book me today for a massage incorporating any of deep tissue, myofascial relaxation, Swedish, trigger point, and sports techniques, I hope that you choose to receive therapeutic massages on a regular basis – after all, how many things in life feel good and are good for you? =)

Thanks for reading!
Cheers!
