My name is Javier, I look forward to massaging you in Montreal..

The constant search for the optimum performance of the human body has always been one of my biggest interests. The desire to understand the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system and the nature of motion coupled with my innate sensory ability have led me to a constant evolution in the science of touch.

One of my greatest passions is sport. I have practiced soccer, gymnastics, tae-kwon do and kung-fu. Nowadays I practice acrobatics and Gumdo – a Korean martial art that trains with a sword.  (I have more mobility now, at the age of 42, than I had when I was 20.)

At the age of 21, I suffered a car accident that left paralyzed half my body. At that point sport was consolidated as the driving force that led me to explore my own body, in order to regain control over the mobility, the flexibility and the elasticity I had lost. While initially the objective was only to regain the mobility and coordination the accident took away from me, thanks to God and to the therapists that worked with, I was able to improve my performance to the point of practicing competitive athletics. I still have restrictions, but I keep working on them, discovering new exercises and letting the tissue expand accordingly.

My training in sports massage and manual therapy, as well as workshops in shiatsu, myofascial release, structural integration, deep tissue massage, and EMF (electromagnetic field) have given me the tools to apply the appropriate technique to the patient's needs.

My goal through therapy is to be able to communicate properly with the tissue in order to offer the necessary rehabilitation, and to regain freedom of movement for the patient. In this way the person can perform daily activities and maximize their athletic performance.
